Just after a silver work about trees in the landscape, I wanted to try out a more graphic style. A more purified writing was coming clearer to me. Not its massive aspect, with its symbolic and totemic of the uprooted tree, but rather its fragile side, evanescent, transient, of its foliage. I have often furrowed through Vincennes woods to capture vegetable elements with sometimes bold low-angle shots. All you have to do is raise up your head to find a thousand living proofs of life. Whereas one expected the emptiness and death –isn’t winter an emblematic figure? - dazzle by the discovery of this discrete presence which is offered only to those who seek it. Not to see the ground. Only the fading winter light off the sky. Leaves and fruits, in a surprising balance, with the sway of the wind, dancing for us on the range of the branches, a minuet made of tiny movements. It is a sensory trip where music plays a shivering, like soundless writing on the curves of the line.
