I felt like to working on a classical, right down simple theme. That way I could leave off the autobiographical highway in which I recognized myself all too well. The woods were just at the end of my street… I rode my bicycle as like I usually do with my camera around my shoulder. I then rediscovered this place that I thought I knew.

Seasons and lights turn it into something new. Green heaps are constantly moving. How many times I’ve lost myself in there? The visual work that I undertook lead me into unchartered territories. As time went on I was fascinated with all trees. I came to understand that it was, in fact, an outdated figure which I was after. Symbolism was quite strong: roots, trunk, flowers fruits, buds. And let one be the witness of this rising up to the sky? This powerful life that overwhelms us, but also that weakness in face of nature's raging. I think of the icy winters, the boiling dryness. All of which provoked holes that have opened further avenues.

In the end, wood has came out of this trial. We all have experienced storms from which we rose of, sometimes even stronger, always changed. Traces remain within.
